The Green Room
Everyone is "going green" these days it seems, and they have good reason to do
so.  We want a world that our children's children can love and enjoy as we have.
As mom's, we are our child's role model, but we are also too busy to save the
world, or so we think.  Listed below are some actions you can take to help "save
the world" everyday.  You may already be doing these things and not even know
that you are helping out Mother Nature- that's how easy they are!  Set an example
for your child and be their new favorite superhero.  You might even find you have
fun and spend some time with your child in the process!

*RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE!!!!!

*Unplug your cell phone charger when it is not charging.

*Turn off your computer monitor when not in use.

*Use natural cleaners, like vinegar, instead of harsh chemicals.

*Ease water consumption- take a bath instead of a shower.  Don't let the water run
while you brush your teeth.

*Choose organic or free range egg options at the grocery or at farmer's markets.

*Use a phosphorus free lawn fertilizer, or better yet, skip spring and summer
fertilizations.  Apply in September and November.

*Make Earth Day everyday.  Talk to your child about not littering.  When you see
litter in your park or neighborhood, pick it up!

*Don't go through drive-thru's if you can avoid it.  Turn off your car and go in when
possible.

*Refill ink and toner cartridges.  Places like Cartridge World and Walgreens
provide these services for cheaper than you can buy new ones.
